Stars and stripes can also have a whimsical feel! We're already gearing up for Fourth of July in my house, and we thought it would be a fun summer craft to make this ribbon American flag for a patriotic touch. It's really simple to make and will add a pop of color during the holiday. Basically all you'll need to do is tie and alternate the red and white ribbons around a wooden dowel, while pinning star fabric onto the flag. So grab your different styles of ribbon and get crafting!
Materials:
3 - 4 ribbon value packs (2 red, 2 white)
1 wooden dowel
1 yard of star fabric
Directions:
The flag we made featured about 3 - 4 feet of red and white ribbon, but it's okay to cut them different sizes depending on how much you have. I bought this style along with this one, but it's really up to you and your preference! All you need to do is tie 2 strands of red, then 2 of white and alternate until the dowel is full. Make sure you switch up the ribbon each time to add a playful touch. For the star fabric, pin around the dowel so you can easily adjust.
