As the air starts to feel chilly in New England and with the holidays approaching, I wanted to share an easy cocktail recipe to create a cozy, traditional drink at home. It's such a simple recipe to make and is perfect for snuggling up by the fireplace while sipping on the rich, spiced drink.
The deep 90+ Cellars Old Vine Malbec features hints of cherry and wood smoke which beautifully complement the distinct spices. Even after you enjoy it warm, you can always let the mulled wine cool so it's an enhanced sangria!
INGREDIENTS
1 bottle 90+ Cellars Lot 23 Old Vine Malbec
4 cups apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
30 whole cloves
1 thinly sliced apple
2 oranges (one to freshly squeeze and one for garnish)
DIRECTIONS
Pour the wine and apple cider into a sauce pan. Next, add the spices, apple and orange juice. Let simmer on the stove top for 10 minutes or up to an hour, depending on how flavorful you want your drink to be.
Leave in the sauce pan and serve, just make sure you don't include the spices in the served drink! (Yes, it's that simple!)
